Good night, and good luck

This is beautiful. A wonderful commentary by Keith Olberman in response to Rumsfeld's speech to the American Legion. I'll let the video speak for itself, but it's impressive. Enjoy

Mothafuckin snakes!

So did you see it? Was it good? Enjoyable? Filled with mothafuckin snakes? Let a brotha in yo. I can't see it over here so I have to live vicariously through all of you.

Oh, btw, there was a pretty funny spot on monday's daily show related to snakes on a plane. Good times.

Fucking scientists!

"Leading astronomers declared Thursday that Pluto is no longer a planet under historic new guidelines that downsize the solar system from nine planets to eight."

Adventures in blending in (and getting blended)

So yeah, I think we suffered blog coma, if not quite blog death. Though I'm confident that we can make a full recovery. As for my excuse, I got really busy at the end of July because more than half of my friends here left in August, so it was party central for a good few weeks. Good times indeed. Included was a fun night at the local Azumino festival. At this festival a lot of businesses or community groups get together and make a little float-like things called an omikoshi. So my friend, Brandon, and I decided that we should participate as well. We scrounged up some cardboard boxes and cut completely random things out of the newspaper and magazines to cover it with. I was particularly proud of the cartoon of super Kim Jong Il. So we got loaded, and jumped into the line of people parading around. It's a lovely thing to witness that beautiful blend of bewilderment and an uncertainty of whether they should be amused of afraid on the faces of the Japanese. I also ran into a lot of my students who were somehow able to detect that I was a bit loaded at the time, despite my assurances to the contrary. I guess I wasn't so convincing.
We also ran into the former mayor, who then invited us out for sake, which he paid for. A brilliant thing indeed. Then we ended up at the local belgian beer bar which both brandon and I remember entering, but don't remember leaving. The next thing I remember is falling off my bike on the ride home while brilliantly trying to answer the phone. I felt like quite the dumbass until I got a call from Brandon the next morning who said, "Dude, I crashed my bike on the ride home last night". He had been playing the let's-see-how-far-I-can-ride-with-my-eyes-closed game. He lost. Anyways, good times in Japan.

Sorry, dudes, for my lack of posting. I go to the hospital at 3-5am on average and get back home 5-6pm with not much energy left for communication. Once my surgery rotation ends in a couple of weeks, however, I should be back. Hope everyone is well. If anyone has any good music, please email me some.

I'm dead inside.

No one's posted.

As for me, I've been super busy with work.

I had to design a festival for next June. ALREADY designed it, almost a year out.

Been kickin' ass at the 9:30. Doin J5's show on Tuesday. I wonder if they have an LD? Won't be super involved regardless. They aren't really a light oriented band.

And just finished my first solo gig (see pic). Did a show for Jimmy's Chicken Shack at the Arlington Drafthouse. Had to bring in and build the whole rig. Jason Heart tech'd for me (he just got back from the 'wan) and I couldn't have done it without him. Pretty intense shit. The rental house gave me the wrong gear so we didn't get a single light up until 2 mins before the show. Good Times... and Jimmy asked me to come back and light his Jarfly's show on the 17th.

How's everyone else?
what is up with the blog/ i can't see past the 23rd?
